Pregnancy and birth can seem really scary. There is so much unknown that it is easy to feel overwhelmed. My job is to stand by your side and support you through every step of the process. Giving evidenced based information with no bias of my own. I purely want to support and empower YOU through this process.
So... what's a Doula?

: a woman experienced in childbirth who provides advice, information, emotional support, and physical comfort to a mother before, during, and just after childbirth.

Being a doula means creating a relationship with a pregnant woman and her partner. Getting to know you and your needs, offering mental and physical support, helping you to understand any challenges you are facing or may face, creating a birth plan, being available to you through unlimited calls and texts (for those panic moments when you just need to ask a question), and being on call for you 24/7 as we approach time for delivery. Somebody who understands what is going on and can help you understand, therefore creating a space you feel comfortable enough to either relax or advocate for yourself. A doula "reads the room" making sure to give you and your partner space when needed as I do realize this is a very intimate time. Supporting you with everything from "Hey I just sent you a picture, I think that's my mucus plug?" to hands on comfort techniques, helping you to the bathroom, or just reminding you that you are, in fact, doing a great job. As a doula I will meet you where you are at, get on your level, and help you through a beautiful, empowering process.
